Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas was entrance to South Patagonia. I originally planned to spent more time in Tierra del Fuego but because of my further planning and lack of time, I decided to go only for penguin and sea lion watching.

It was sligtly out of season so the migration of penguins from Antarctica to warmer north was finishing. But still it was nice experience to go by boat to one of the southest islands in south America with just a simple lighthouse and see the last groups of male penguins running around. There were more corpses than living ones at this time. One the other hand huge groups of sea lions were resting at the other island. They made a proper wild life noise when boat was coming closer and far away again to defend their territory.

I also managed to get Chilean sim card working. For incredible deal 3gb+1gb social+100min+100sms for 5 usd.
